Phalaris arundinacea var. ‘Big Medicine’
Reportedly selected by American researcher Johnny Appleseed for vigor and low to no animal toxicity. We sometimes have ‘Big Medicine’ rhizome cuttings and rooted plants available in our shop.

Phalaris arundinacea var. ‘Clone #R5’ (‘Unpalatable USDA clone #405-9’)
A strain which originates from the U.S. Regional Pasture Research Laboratory, Pennsylvania.

Phalaris arundinacea var. ‘Clone #R16’ (‘Unpalatable USDA clone #369-3’)
A strain which originates from the U.S. Regional Pasture Research Laboratory, Pennsylvania.

Selected by Johnny Appleseed, reportedly from material originating (along with Phalaris arundinacea var. ‘P.I. 253317 Yugoslavia’) from a 1971 collection from either the Northeastern Regional Plant Introduction Station, New York, or the Western Regional Plant Introduction Station, Washington.

Perhaps simply another name for Phalaris arundinacea var. ‘P.I. 253317 Yugoslavia’? Another variety originally selected by Johnny Appleseed. We occasionally sell this clone in our shop.
