Trichocereus cuzcoensis ‘Caraybamba’ | ‘Peruvian Torch’ | 25 seeds
Arkham’s Botanical is pleased to offer extremely limited stocks of this nice Trichocereus cuzcoensis variety, collected in Caraybamba, Peru. This strain is technically known as TB 777.2, but we’ve listed it here as ‘Caraybamba’ for simplicity’s sake.
A self-sterile, spiny and bright-green columnar cactus that grows roughly two to five metres tall, cuzcoensis is very similar in appearance to many plants found in the Trichocereus peruvianus to Trichocereus macrogonus complex, with which it easily forms transitional hybrids.
Whichever side of the whole cuzcoensis/peruvianus debate you fall on, these really are beautiful cacti, originating from Bolivia and Peru). Grown easily from seed or cuttings in USDA Hardiness Zones 8-11, this cactus responds well when treated like other popular Trichocereus species, including Trichocereus pachanoi (‘San Pedro’) and Trichocereus bridgesii (‘Achuma’, ‘Bolivian Torch’). Germination should occur between two to six weeks from sowing, providing an ideal temperature of between 26°C and 30°C is maintained.
All the seed sold by Arkham’s Botanical was freshly and ethically sourced
