Salad Leaves ‘Bright & Spicy’ | ~100 seeds
A great ‘Bright & Spicy’ salad mix offering a low-cost way to grow a flavourful selection colourful salad leaves, either in containers or the ground. This selection comprises of ‘Greek Cress’ (for some mustardy spice), ‘Mizuna Serrated Leaf’ (for a little softer flavour), ‘Mustard Red Frills’ and ‘Mustard Red Zest’ (for some old-fashioned bite), Pak Choi ‘Canton White’ and ‘Golden Yellow’ (for crisp succulence) and ‘Tatsoi’ (to add a bit of colour).
What’s great about these kind of salad leaf selections is that you can not only grow several types of tasty plants without breaking the bank, but you can also keep coming back to harvest them every week or two during their vegetative growth season – almost all of the year round! Sow thinly in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun, covering the seeds lightly with soil to help keep them above 10°C. Under these conditions, germination should occur from seven days onward. You can start harvesting and enjoy the fruits of your labour once the leaves are a minimum of fifteen centimetres or so high.
