Acacia obtusifolia | ‘Blunt Leaf Wattle’, ‘Stiff Leaf Wattle’ | 10 seeds

Endangered in the wild, the Australian Acacia obtusifolia (known informally as the ‘Blunt Leaf Wattle’ or ‘Stiff Leaf Wattle’) is a spreading tree of the Fabaceae that is closely related to Acacia longifolia. This is another UK exclusive for Arkham’s Botanical – all the way from a specialist grower in Australia!

Distinguishable from longifolia by its resinous phyllode margins – as well as its paler flowers which bloom later in the year (December to February) than the former species – obtusifolia grows between one and a half to eight metres tall, dependent on its environment.

Preferring frost-free climates between USDA Zones 9 and 11, Acacia obtusifolia may often be found growing on sandstone ridges well above the frost line. Do your bit for an endangered Acacia species and add this one to your garden!

All the seed sold by Arkham’s Botanical was freshly and ethically sourced

Good luck with your grow! It was rather difficult to source these, due to drought and fire in Australia, so we’re very happy that folk such as yourselves are appreciative!

      Hi Anastasios,

Thanks for your comment – you’re welcome to rate us on service, packaging, etc. or to update us later, once you’ve germinated the seeds you bought. We grow these ourselves, so are very confident you’ll be pleased whenever you decide to grow them. If you’re new to Acacia species cultivation, here’s a quick germination guide –

      All the best!
